Graiglwyd Springs Fly Fishery
Rules for Fishing
- All anglers must have a current Environment AgencyFishing Licence.
- Fly fishing only. No spinners, baiting, or feeding to attract.
- Barbless or de-barbed hooks only. Periodic checks will be made.
- Do not handle fish. If you absolutely have to, please ensure wet hands.
- Fish must be kept in water, not on the bank.
- If a fish starts bleeding, do not return it to the water, bring it to our attention immediately.
- Damaged fish through bad handling will be charged at £4 per pound.
- Do not remove fish from the water for trophy pictures.
- Anyone found mishandling fish will be asked to leave and no refund given.Anyone found taking fish above their agreed limit, will be asked to leave immediately, banned, have all fish confiscated and reported to the appropriate authority. Periodic checks will be made.
- If anyone wishes to take more fish, notify us first and we can amend the ticket price.
Rules for Anglers
- Anglers must remove their litter including line and cigarette butts from pegs. Bins are providedat the Lodge.
- On Game Tickets, the first fish caught must be killed. There is no selective fishing allowed.
- All tiger trout must be returned.
- Nets must be dipped before fishing.
- All fish must be weighed in the net.
- Children who are fishing must be accompanied by an adult at all times on site.
Banned Flies and Methods;
- No boobies, eggflies, pellet flies, jelly style flies.
- No tandem flies.
- Snakes to have 1 hook only.
- Only single hooks, no doublesor trebles.
- No leaving line in water with rod unattended.
Minimum leader strength 8lbs.
All anglers must report their catch before leaving.
Additional Rules
- No Spectators are permitted on the lake.
- Pets are not permitted near the lake and if in the car park, must be on a lead, with any mess bagged and binned.
- Pets left unattended in cars for short periods should have ample ventilation and water and we must be notified.
- Cars parked on site are entirely at the owner’s risk and no liability will be accepted by us for loss or damage.
- Disabled parking, for Blue Badge holders, is available by prior booking for up to 2 cars at lake side. However, there is a risk of potential damage from casting due to the proximity, therefore cars are parked at the owner’s risk.
- 2 wheelchair access pegs are available next to the disabled parking.
- Lessons and advice are offered so please ask if in doubt about anything.
- We do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff, so anyone behaving in such a manner will be asked to leave and banned from Graiglwyd.
- We ask that you familiarise yourselves with these rules before fishing and if you have any queries please do not hesitate in asking.
